Kinsey Report
Having seen the Kinsey movie with Joey last night, I think I'm now ready to read the 800 page biography that's been sitting on my shelf for five or so years.
The movie's pretty good, with a couple powerful moments: when Kinsey's aged father shares a shameful childhood secret with him, and at the end when the elderly liberated dyke (played by Lynn Redgrave) thanks Kinsey for his ground-breaking work. The homoerotic bits were well-done too. (I popped a woody or two.)
Sexual politics in the US of A is really fucked-up right now. Not that it's going to be watched by any of the right-wing freaks who need to watch it, but this film comes at the right time.
